Trans women, trans men, non-binary people: I'm Zoltan: permingUP since 1991, straightening since 1999. I change how hair behaves: less curl, more curl, more lift. You bring the look you're going for, and I work out how your hair gets there. You'll be treated with respect from the booking to the mirror.
Growing it out
The awkward middle stage is where texture work earns its keep.
- Curl or frizz fighting you while it grows? DOWN calms it. Straightment SemiDOWN (2+ months), Demi (6+ months, ~60% less curl) or Permanent (80%+ of the curl out, for good on treated hair).
- Flat and heavy? UP adds movement. Wavement ColdUP (springy curl), Wavement HotUP (big soft movement), or root volume (lift at the root).
- Just the fringe, the roots or the hairline? Partials.
Softer or sharper
Want hair that sits softer and smoother? That's DOWN. Want more texture and grip in a shorter shape? That's UP. I do texture, not colour.
Hormones and hair: the sourced bit
A 2023 review of the research found that long-term testosterone is linked to male-pattern hair loss in some people, more often where it runs in the family. For oestrogen-based therapy, early and limited evidence suggests it may help that kind of thinning. (Source: Clinical and Experimental Dermatology, 2023, systematic review.) If your hair is changing, tell me at consultation. I read the hair you have today. Hair loss itself is one for your GP or your clinic, not for me.

Online, £9.95: a questionnaire and six photos from home so I can prepare, then I call you back within 72 hours, usually the same day. No one else in the room.
