Why aren't you in the magazines any more?
I stopped, almost without noticing. The name started bringing people who came for the name, and the clients I'd looked after for twenty years couldn't get an appointment. So I said no to the features. The best press I get now is never printed: it's someone at a dinner table asking "who does your hair?" The full story is below.
Which magazines have you been in?
Pretty much every one that counts: Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Tatler, HELLO!, The Sunday Times Style, Glamour, Elle, The Telegraph, the Daily Mail and more. Every feature is on this page.
Can I see the originals?
Most of them: the original page, a scan of the cutting or the video. Some older features are no longer online and I don't have the cutting to show. Those say so, and they're listed from my own records.
Why is some of it years old?
Because I stopped chasing press years ago. The work didn't stop; my book is full of people who came through a friend, not a feature.
Are you still the hairdresser in those articles?
Yes. Same hands, same chair, and it's just me: perming since 1991, straightening since 1999.
