Where it came from
The Brazilian brand
Before Compton London brought it here, Onix was a Brazilian brand. This is how the maker described itself and its products on its own website, around 2009, in English for the first time.

Onix Natural Care is a company that entered the cosmetics market with force, earning its place among the best and most respected brands. Aiming for credibility and partnership with its clients and distributors, the company works across much of the country and abroad. Quality support and service are what set us apart, always in close contact with clients and distributors; we look for new trends and innovative technology to use in our products, to stay one step ahead of the market.
Its products are made to a high standard, using natural benefits and the latest, internationally recognised raw materials. Focused on the beauty professional and on clients who demand the best cosmetics, Onix Natural Care innovates with products made from genuinely Brazilian natural extracts, to celebrate the best of what our country has.
The treatment: Açaí + Guaraná, in three steps
1. Cleansing Shampoo, Açaí + Guaraná. Developed to prepare the hair for the Onix Açaí blow-dry treatment. It deep-cleans the hair of everyday build-up. The Açaí + Guaraná combination regenerates and revives the hair without harshness, leaving it feeling fresh.
2. Realigning Treatment. Combines the natural benefits of açaí and guaraná extracts with white clay, keratin and polyquaternium. This regenerates and rebuilds the hair, returning moisture, softness and intense shine, for a smooth effect that is perfect, natural and long-lasting.
3. Regenerating Mask, Açaí + Guaraná. Gives intense hydration and full regeneration of the hair, forming a protective film over it against mechanical and natural damage.
- Wash the hair with the Cleansing Shampoo, massaging gently to open the cuticles ready for the Realigning Treatment. Rinse well and repeat.
- Dry with a towel or dryer, taking out about 80% of the moisture.
- Set aside about 50 ml of the Realigning Treatment. Divide the hair into fine sections and, with a brush and comb, apply section by section, removing any excess.
- Use as little product as possible: it fills the cuticles, and any excess leaves the hair heavy, greasy, dull and dirty-looking.
- Leave for 15 minutes, then dry the hair completely with a hot dryer only, which activates the açaí and guaraná. No brush: use your fingers, nape included.
- Seal the cuticle with a ceramic or porcelain iron at 180–200°C, seven passes per section.
- Blow-dry the whole head section by section with the dryer at maximum, smoothing and stretching the hair; it is dry and half-straight by now, so this is quick.
- Rinse after at least 30 minutes, once the hair is completely cool, and finish as you like. For best results, follow with the Regenerating Mask.
The day-care line: Açaí, for chemically treated hair
Açaí Shampoo. A gentle shampoo for hair that has been chemically processed (relaxed or straightened). Made with açaí extract, which tones the root, revives shine and makes the hair supple. A creamy, moisturising, detangling lather that cleans thoroughly while respecting fragile hair, leaving it soft and silky.
Açaí Conditioner. Developed for chemically processed hair. Detangling and softening, it conditions well, aligning the cuticles and making them healthier and stronger. Moisturising and revitalising: soft, silky, supple hair with much more shine.
Açaí Leave-in. A no-rinse detangler and moisturiser that protects the hair from daily stress: sun, wind, pollution, air conditioning, dry air. Repairs and reduces split ends, calms frizz and controls volume for better fall. Contains heat protection for blow-drying and flat irons, and a sun filter. For daily use.
