Can you get your hair done in a lunch hour?
Short answer: a consultation, yes. A proper texture treatment, usually not. Book a long lunch, the end of the day, or a morning you’ve kept clear, and you’ll get the exact time when you book.
If you work in Mayfair or St James’s, you’re a short walk from my chair on Maddox Street. That’s the good news. The honest news is that chemistry doesn’t care about your diary.
What fits in a lunch hour
- An in-person consultation. I look at your hair, ask what it’s been through and tell you what I’d do. It doesn’t come off a treatment, and it’s worth it if your hair has history.
- A small partial job, like a fringe, on a good day. Ask when you book; the system gives you the real time, not a guess.
- Nothing that needs a first wash later. Most treatments come with a “don’t wash it until…” instruction. That’s easy to follow from your desk.
What doesn’t
- A full Straightment SemiDOWN, Demi or Permanent. The hair has to be read, washed, treated, dried and finished. Rushing any of those steps is how hair gets hurt.
- A perm. Every section is wound by hand. It takes as long as it takes.
How people from the office do it
- Online consultation first. A questionnaire and six photos from your phone so I can prepare, then I call you back within 72 hours, usually the same day.
- Book the treatment at the end of the day or on a quiet morning. Walk back to the office after, or walk home.
- Plan the first wash. You’ll know exactly when before you leave.
Is it obvious when you walk back in?
It shouldn’t be. The goal is your hair on a good day, not “you’ve had something done”. If colleagues notice anything, it’s usually that you look well.
The walk
From St James’s Square, Jermyn Street or Berkeley Square you’re on foot. From the Bond Street end of Mayfair, it’s round the corner. Nobody needs a cab to get to me.
